MY GUILTLESS DESSERTS
Michelle Becker

How we got started.
Guiltless Desserts was born out of need.  About three years ago, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and about a year after that my brother was found to have a gluten, dairy and sugar sensitivity.  Shortly after that, my mother started having digestive issues.  All three of us have a huge sweet tooth but we could not find desserts that tasted good and met our dietary restrictions.  Since I love to bake, my mom and I developed these DELICIOUS desserts.  I invite you enjoy our sugar free, dairy free, gluten free desserts that have all the taste and none of the guilt!

We bake donuts, cookies, biscotti, brownies, cereal and make chocolate spreads.

Ignatius Farm is part of the Ignatius Jesuit Centre.  We have been growing organic produce since 2001.  Visit the centre and take advantage of our extensive trails, join our CSA, rent a community garden and see how your food is grown

Ignatius Farm is an integral part of the Ignatius Jesuit Centre in Guelph Ontario, whose key mission for more than four decades has been to foster an ecological way of life through agriculture, spirituality, and eco-restoration.

Your farmers love growing food, working in synergy with the soilecosystem, and getting to know you!Farm Manager Heather Lekx, andFarmers Donald Bowyer and Mike Smithwork with seasonal staff, interns, Working Shares, and volunteers to grow your food and take care of the farm.

We all care about our health, and want to do what is best for our family. Eating produce fresh right from the farm means nutrition and flavour! Ignatius Farm produce is certified organic by an independent auditor, ECOCERT, who verifies that no harmful synthetic chemicals, antibiotics, hormones, preservatives, or genetic engineering are used.

Feel good about the food you give your kids, and know you’re supporting a farm that works with nature. Every are cropped in produce is matched with at least one acre of soil-building, carbon-sequestering cover crop! We work hard to protect our land, water, and air, and invite you to come see how we do things for yourself.

SCHOLARSHIP CAFE operated by Troy’s Diner

Bacon-on-a-Bun and so much more!
The Milton Chamber of Commerce is pleased to partner with Troy's Dinner to operate the Scholarship Cafe. This partnership allows the Chamber to focus on what it does best...operating the market and allows Troy's to focus on what they do best...serving great food.  A portion of the proceeds will continue to fund the Chamber's Scholarship Program.

Of course Troy will continue to offer the ever-popular Bacon-on-a-bun sandwich but they will also be offering a much wider selection of products from their restaurant. "This partnership means that Market Goers will be able to enjoy expanded menu offerings from a familiar favourite."  said Scott McCammon, President & CEO of the Milton Chamber of Commerce.

BLYEVEN FARMS
William Blyleven

We have 2 businesses. Blyleven Farms started in 1992 after we bought our farm. We started small with local farmers markets and within 3 years we started expanding into the Toronto area where there was more population. We then started Maple Greenhouses in 1996 growing spring flowers. We also started growing vegetable plants for various growers in the Haldimand/Norfolk area, and therefore had a nice variety of vegetables to offer our customers. the two work nice together as the greenhouses are busy in the winter/spring and the farmers market are busy in the summer/fall. So this keeps us busy all year long.

SWEET POTATO JOHNNY
John Chabot

Sweet Potato Johnny is John Chabot. People who have been going to the St. Catharines Farmers' Market for a few years will remember that John started out selling Montreal-style bagels as Johnny's Fresh Bagels.

The bagels were delicious, but John got bored and carpal tunnel (kidding!) and wanted to try something new so he added some frozen soups and entrees to his menu. Over time more menu items got replaced by dishes containing sweet potato until everything had sweet potato in it and the bagels were history.

One day, Pam at the Itty Bitty Pie Company (best pies around!) referred to John as "Sweet Potato Johnny" and the name stuck.

And the rest of the story is delicious!
